So could you become a professional footballer when you were younger? Or is chess really good? Maybe a world-famous chef?

Well, maybe not anymore, we think as we get older. And maybe this is really good.

The research team explored the importance of motivating factors to be truly experienced in aptitude.

Germundur Sigmundsson, a professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, said: “We wanted to see how your desire, your courage and your belief that you would be better – your growth outlook – changed with age and gender.” NTNU) Department of Psychology.

He is the first author of the article International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. Researchers studied 1,548 people between the ages of 13 and 77.

Passion and growth thinking decreases

The sofa is definitely a much more pleasant place to spend time as you get older. This is also reflected in the results of the study.

“Your passion for what you used to burn will diminish. I also believe that you can do it really well, ”said Professor Sigmundsson.

But do not give up here. You may not be a world champion in anything, but if you go to it, you can be really experienced. Or at least better.

“At that time, it is important to maintain a positive attitude. Despite your age, you can’t stop believing in growth, ”said Sigmundsson.

As he gets older, he becomes stubborn

Here, too, there is some hope, because the grinding increases with each passing year.

“The idea of passion and growth decreases with age, but when we look at the aging population as a whole, the desire for endurance increases,” says Sigmundsson.

So you can find some obvious advantages to being an old fog.

“Some older people still recover some of their passions,” Sigmundsson said.

Gender differences

The level of sand is the same in both sexes. However, researchers have also found some differences between men and women.

Sigmundsson says: “In other words, men are more interested in what they really want than women.

And women are catching up in another area.

“Women are generally more confident that they will succeed in what they want to be better, in other words, their sense of growth is stronger.” Sigmundsson noted that this finding was first confirmed.

Previous research has shown that it is important to find something that you enjoy as you get older. Unfortunately, you will not find any shortcuts other than your own strength, and of course, your efforts may be required. Unless, of course, you’re lying on the couch. Then it’s really easy.

Motivational factors vary by age group and gender

The aim of the current study was to examine differences in perseverance, stubbornness, and thinking in terms of age and gender, using cross-sectional design. 1548 participants were selected, including 931 women and 617 men aged 13 to 77 years (Mage 26.53 years, SD = 11.77).

An eight-point Passion for Achievement scale was used to assess total passion, and a Grit-S scale was used to evaluate a grenade. Thinking was assessed on an eight-point Theory of Intelligence Theory (TIS). The results showed significant differences between the three factors related to age, age groups, and gender.

For general selection, there is a significant gender difference in the mindset of growth in which men have higher scores and in women with higher scores. Passion decreases with age from 50 to 59 years, and increases slightly in other age groups.

After the reduction in grinding between the first (13–19 years old) and the second (20–29 years old) age groups, the sand increases with age. After the age of 40-49, thinking scores drop sharply.

In general, the models show that intelligence and passion decrease throughout life, and passion increases. In fact, these attributes differ from each other and how they change varies in different age groups.
