EA Sports announced on Tuesday that EA Sports FC will be the next title of the FIFA virtual football franchise. The name, defined by the developer as the beginning of an “exciting new era”, will be adopted in July 2023 after FIFA 23.
– Next year EA SPORTS FC EA SPORTS will be the future of football. Together with our 300+ licensed sports partners, we are ready to take the world football experience to new heights on behalf of all football fans around the world, ”the statement said.

An EA statement said the game will continue with the same experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, clubs, athletes, Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football.
– Our unique licensed portfolio is maintained exclusively by EA SPORTS FC, which consists of more than 17,000 players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues we have invested in for decades. This includes an exclusive partnership with CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, MLS – the statement said.
The move was prompted by the end of a long-standing partnership between Electronic Arts and FIFA. In October last year, producer CEO Cam Weber said the FIFA franchise could change its name as it reviewed the company’s partnership with FIFA to use the name of the top football organization.
According to an article in the New York Times last year, EA Sports pays FIFA $ 100 million a year, and UOL says it will save that amount and continue to offer real experience. Licenses for leagues such as the Champions League (Champions League), the Libertadores Cup, the Premier League (English Championship), La Liga (Spanish Championship), the Bundesliga (German Championship) and others.
The agreement with FIFA allows the publishing house to use the name of FIFA in the games and publish the official matches of the World Cup. It also gives the company the right to partner in organizing e-sports championships, such as the FIFAe World Cup (formerly the FIFA Interactive World Cup).
The company defines rebranding as a symbol change, and the name EA Sports FC is a symbol of change.
– We are committed to a significant reinvestment in the sport and are delighted to work with many and growing partners to expand the genuine new experience of inclusion and baptism to the world community of fans. I look forward to sharing more information about these plans in the coming months.
Before continuing, the EA promised to close the FIFA round, which debuted in 1993, “the widest game in another year with our current naming partner, FIFA.”
– We strive to ensure that the next FIFA has more opportunities than all previous FIFA releases, game modes, World Cup content, clubs, leagues, competitions and the best players.

EA Sports rivals, Konami has also changed the name of its football game franchise. After using the Pro Evolution Soccer brand for many years, the company adopted eFootball to demonstrate the transition to a multi-platform game-service model, freeing up the game. When it came out, eFootball 2022 was a joke for its rough graphics and amazing flaws. An update released in April this year fixed the bugs.
