6 foods that have been shown to slow down the aging process at any age, say nutritionists – don’t eat it

As your digital age progresses, you will want to do everything you can to lower your mental, emotional, and physical ages. Even though you are technically aging, there are ways to help your body slow down the aging process, so you don’t feel like you’re getting older. As they say, age is just a number!

This can range from exercising to changing your habits and adding a variety of foods to your diet. If you want to include anti-aging foods in your daily routine, take a look at what some experts on our Medical Expert Council have to say. Then, according to nutritionists, eating habits that make your body aging for ten years.


“Fruits are a powerful source of antioxidants that kill free radicals,” says a nutritionist Sydney Green, RDN. “Free radicals are a component of aging and can contribute to things like sun spots, wrinkles and dry / clean skin.”

Antioxidants are commonly known to have “anti-aging” super potency. These molecules and vitamins react with free radicals to protect cells from free radical damage. This prevents free radicals from reacting with other beneficial molecules and cells.

Different fruits (and some foods) contain different types of antioxidants. However, blue wolves are one of the best sources to get your food.

Watercress container

Watercress is a mild and flowering vegetable that contains four times more beta-carotene than apples and contains 238% of the recommended daily dose of vitamin K per 100 grams. These compounds keep your skin young.

“These green vegetables are rich in vitamins, minerals and nutrients,” says a registered nutritionist Amy Shapiro, MS, RD. “It acts as an antiseptic for the skin and actually helps increase the flow of minerals from this plant to the skin cells. Basically, it increases the oxygen to the skin and prevents aging.”

Shapiro also says that the water cross is rich in vitamins A and C, which are powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals. Watercress is also rich in calcium, which strengthens your bones as you get older.


“Avocados are an amazing source of vitamin E,” says Green. “Vitamin E also acts as an antioxidant and promotes skin health and inflammation.”

Vitamin E in avocados also helps the skin, nails and hair. The fatty acids found in avocados nourish the body with fats and minerals and help keep fats healthy.

This fruit is also good for your body from other diseases that cause your body to age faster. These include lowering blood pressure, lowering the risk of metabolic syndrome, lowering “bad” (LDL) cholesterol, and protecting your heart.

Red pepper

These vegetables are rich in vitamin C – a powerful antioxidant that promotes collagen production. It is also rich in antioxidants called carotenoids.

“Carotenoids give pepper its orange-yellow color and fight inflammation, while helping to protect the skin from the sun, pollution and environmental factors,” says Shapiro.

Bulgarian pepper is also excellent for weight loss and versatile to use. Whether they are raw or cooked, you can toss them in most dishes for a little sourness or flavor.


“These nuts are rich in vitamin E, which repairs skin damage,” says Shapiro. “The oil helps keep the skin hydrated and is resistant to UV rays that can cause external damage.”

Shapiro further explains that almonds are high in fiber. They also help prevent cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes and promote cognitive function in later life.

Mediterranean diet

“As you think about keeping your brain sharp and young, think about the foods in the Mediterranean diet,” Green says. “Studies show that more adherence to the Mediterranean diet is associated with a slower cognitive decline.”

The Mediterranean diet is associated with a sharpening of the mind in the later stages of your life and the ability to think strongly in later life. Diet also has a positive effect on the heart and is associated with longevity.

Some examples of these Mediterranean dishes include nuts, fish, olives, vegetables, and spices.
